Heirloom Jewellers is a family-owned manufacturing jeweller based in Newcastle specialising in exclusive custom made jewellery.
Handcrafting fine jewellery is a specialised skill that has been handed down from generation to generation. Richard Barwik, owner of Heirloom Jewellers, comes from a long line of jewellers and watchmakers. Growing up in Stargard, Poland, Richard learnt the craft of jewellery manufacturing from a young age working closely with his father and working with famous diamond cutter Gabi Tolkowsky.
Since opening its first store on Beaumont Street in 1989, Heirloom Jewellers has become the jeweller of choice for custom design and manufacturing. Combining traditional goldsmithing techniques with advanced modern technology, Heirloom Jewellers hand selects the finest materials to create breathtaking jewellery.
This family tradition still holds strong today, with Richard’s eldest son, Michael, who specialises in the diamond selection process.
Today, Heirloom Jewellers has two locations across Newcastle and the Hunter region, including a fully equipped manufacturing workshop in East Maitland, NSW.
Both Richard and Michael have formal diamond training through both the GIA (and the HRD diamond grading laboratories In Antwerp). Richard is also an accredited Australian Diamond Broker (ADB).
With over 45 years’ experience combined, Richard and Michael walk customers through the process of selecting the perfect diamond and creating a beautiful bespoke piece of jewellery to be treasured forever. The aim is help create a piece of jewellery that will one day become a beautiful family heirloom.
From hand selecting stones to using state of the art technology, (such as using the latest latest in CAD design) ensures that each and every piece of jewellery is manufactured to excellence. Creating unique engagement rings and wedding bands with diamonds and natural stones is a specialty.
A large proportion of the jewellery sold is made and designed by Heirloom Jewellers. The team is always happy to offer suggestions and ideas on style and suitability to create a jewellery masterpiece as individual as each customer.
Broken, damaged or worn jewellery can be repaired and/or remodelled so that customers may experience the pleasure of wearing their jewellery once again.
